Reading over the thread, it looks like we need to have the STOCK BIOS flashed, then we can software overclock with these drivers? What if I want to have 1.24V instead of the 1V?
With the newer drivers, you need to have the stock BIOS to OC. The last driver that seemed to work with the flashed BIOS was 169.04.

Ok, flashed stock BIOS...used nTune to bump up the clocks...highest I can get is 500/600 which is terrible...

Last time I was using the flashed BIOS (last year) I seem to recaqll I could get 600/800.

I guess that's because I had it at 1.24V?

I'm running Vista on my 9400 with the 7900GS.

Any way to get it to 1.24V ? Or do I need to go abck to older drivers?

Fenuxx is cool enough to have people show up to his/her party!
You can always flash to the stock GeForce Go 7900 GTX BIOS. That BIOS has a 1.24v core voltage, and if you use the stock BIOS, you'll still have the ability to overclock via software.

Its just the unlock part of the bios that needs to be stock (locked)

At least I infer that as I have the 2D clocks boosted on mine and set it back to locked, and it works. See zzpulps sig for link to original bioses

Just downloaded an installed this, works great so. However, the nVidia Control Panel is missing a lot of settings - I can't do anything aside from adjust 3D app settings and configure multiple displays. I'd really like to have the LCD Scaling Menu back, since I'm kind of a stickler for having the proper aspect ratio when playing a game.

I'm running into a slight problem with 169.35: I'm not able to watch DVD's anymore due to an issue with the video card drivers. Will the 174.31 correct this?

newbie question I dont see

A bit intimidating to post here. Hope I dont screw up protocals.
My problem: I want to use my Dell e1705 for BluRay viewing. Its a later build core 2 duo T7200 at 2.0, 2 x ddr 667, with 120 gig 5400 hd. This is a 32 bit operating system. I am using Vista Home premium. I installed an nvidia 7900 gs go to replace the ATI 1400 it came with. I replaced the dvd drive with a uj-110 blu ray reader. Then I bought a cyberlink software ultra edition to handle the bluray disks. THEN I tried to play a movie and found out that my 7900 gs card is barely sufficient but the drivers that come with it are absolutely inadequate. I'm learning a lot reading these forums (including how to change out the video card) but dont have yall's technical expertise by a long shot. My cyberlink software says I need a forceware update revision of 174.53 or higher but when I downloaded that, it said that the program couldn't find hardware to match that firmware? My current graphics card driver is 7.14.10.9686.

I thought perhaps by downloading your 174.31 modified that I might get this to work but the revision number is not high enough, right? Am I wasting my time? Or is there a solution to this situation? I have read a lot of posts about problems with the GTX cards even if I could find one. Everything else in this system is BD ready. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

174.31 is actually newer than 174.53. IIRC, 174.53 was originally released as a driver for the 9800GX2 only. Also, 175.16 is available for download, which is newer than BOTH of those drivers, and also seems to be a tad faster in games. I'd suggest trying them out HERE.

Don't get caught up with nVidia's driver numbering -- it makes no sense sometimes. A higher number does NOT mean a newer driver, and vice versa. Just look for what has been released the latest, and try that (which is 175.16, in MobileForce's case).
