they would have posted to call them before a bio flash in the link...if they send it to u then they know ur going to do it...if they want u to call them before you do then they need to put it in the pdf stating it... if the bios gets screwed use another computer burn the old bios and start over...been there and done that on my other alienware desktop and its doing just fine...

You started by writing this to me:
"if u dont like it get a CS person on the phone and walk u through it...", which is somewhat condescending and left a bad taste in my mouth.

You continued in a later post by writing this:
"if u dont want to get the three year warranty then dont but I dont want to here that ur one year warranty is gone and something goes bad and ur like WTF its going to cost what to fix...."

Which I thought was funny because of your usage of "u", "here", "ur", and lack of grammar.

I don't mind you posting your opinion. In fact, it's probably a good idea for the large majority of people (to get the 3 yr warranty, not to post your opinion, which is fine too, but not my point). But I don't want people buying the 3 year warranty then flashing their bios and voiding it 3 months after receiving their system, thus wasting $300. Then, of course, they'd complain that it wasn't in the pdf warning them of the possible loss of their warranty. Alienware could reply by stating "You have a copy of the warranty and what voids it. We did not state specifically that this is exempt from the terms in the contract, thus your warranty has been revoked."

It's not AW's responsibility to remind you what is and isn't in the terms of the contract. It can be their responsibility to notify you of changes to the warranty contract, but if there are no changes taking place, they don't have to say anything.

Koshinn, no one is trying to bait you into losing your warranty. I'm getting an official word on this.

Is the official word that it doesn't affect your warranty?

Don't flash the BIOS on an Alienware machine that is under warranty without calling Alienware first!!! That be your bottom line action rite there...why beg for heartache?

I got confirmation this morning that flashing the bios will not void the warranty. I think a support rep will be stopping by to put an end to the worrying.

Good morning,

For those of you who have been exhibiting a downclocking issue with the m15x, I would like to clarify that flashing your system to the new public BIOS will not void your warranty.

So, you know, knock yourselves out.

Regards,

so i've flashed to the x30 bios and my gpu is still down clocking.
can anyone confirm that this bios actually worked for them?

i'm using rivatuner to record my temps and speeds and when my gpu hits 80c it downclocks.
