PCTorque and a 9262

On Febuary 24th I ordered a 9262 from PCTorque.

It is now March 19th and I have received no information on when the system will ship.

Now I try to be a calm person about everything, I work in Tech Support so I understand delays and the like, but nothing is adding up.

First I was told 10 days from when I called before I ordered the system. Then I was told it would be sooner then 10 days. I was stoked! Then I was told on day 15 after it did not ship that it would be "Any Day Now" and that the delay was because sager was having a problem with the SLI.

I knew about the second video card being shipped later, thats fine but they told me there was an issue with that and they were delaying the system.

So I called Sager directly to find out how the issue is progressing and they told me there was no issue and the systems were being sent out fine with one and the second will be fine shipping later.

Now it's 24 days and I have absolutly no information and have been trying to contact PCTorque through the number they provide. I get an answering maching every call.

I've left many messages with my number to call back and havn't heard anything.

This is looking pretty shaddy and I...don't really know where to turn. I don't want to put a stop payment on the system...seeing as I really want it, but I'm running out of options

Has anyone else ordered a 9262 from PCTorque and had the same problems? I'm pulling my hair out here.

I'm getting to my wits end. All I get is a message saying "Brian" is on the other line. I've been getting that message since Sunday.
I don't WANT to cancel the payment, I want this system. But I am extreamly upset over this. Absolutly NO information and no WAY to get said information.

The first few days (Days 0-10) I was extreamly happy with the support, Steve was extreamly nice and very open to any needs.
Now That "Brian" is answering I get absolutly no information (Thats IF!!! he answers.)
This is just...rediculous.

Everybody makes mistakes. Three times is good enough to draw a line. Just back out and order yourself a system with XoticPC or Sagernotebooks.

I smell a lemon. You might want to review the tech support postings for Clevo's previous offerings in the performance DTR segment to see what I mean.

I got in touch with Brian today. Aparently he thought I wanted to wait for the second 8800 to be ready.

The lack of communication wasn't happy, but everything is sorted out, which is happy.

Apologies for the kind of 'rant' thread, was just frustrated. Very happy to hear it has been shipped.

Thanks PCTorque!

Ha, I love this place. Only forums I've come across where people are cool to each other.
Yes, thank you guys for the assistance, I can't wait to get the system!
Will post some benchmarks after I'm done doing a little tweaking

Let me guess, you were idling in XP on 1 core to get that CPU temp? The TDP on the Q6600 is actualy higher than my 9860's P4 and I idled at 50C and peaked at about 62C. I suspect multi core temps for your Q6600 will be much higher. As for the GPU, I believe the 8800m GTX is almost twice the TDP of my old D900T lemon's go6800. The AW M15X runs the 8800's SLI'd and it's got shutdown problems they are fixing by adjusting the BIOS, most likely to cripple the GPU's and ratchet up fan speeds. Granted the M15X chassis is smaller, but not by much, and the M17X has been a long time coming, I wonder why... and the 9262 Teseer wants is SLI.

umm no, I was running CRYSIS @ 168x1050 for an hour on HIGH

and yes I get 37 idle but 64 peak.

do some research the cooling on this laptop is freakishly cool

you obviously don't know shit!

and you can't compare a fracking 15 inch piece of shitte with a 8800 in it to a 12 pound wicked designed for cooling notebook with mega fans and lots of room.

I seriously get 37 IDLE and 64 peak GPU i'm talking.

CPU is near the same.

I run all the time at MAX FANS BTW>

64 peak CPU is very close to the spec'd max operating temp and it's the same temp I got on my 9860, ie. it's hot. Furthermore, Crysis is not a CPU intensive application, it only utilizes about half of the CPU's potential.

Calm down shillboy. I know the 9262 has an extra fan in it, but it also generates a lot more heat during peak operation. I'm sure it's even lounder than my 9860, which was loud enough tyvm.

The M15X is big for a 15" computer, and people have been having problems on it with just a single 8800M GTX. The 9262 has 2 GPU's. I don't care if the GPU are liquid cooled, it's going to generate unprecedented amounts of heat that have to be dispated one way or another.

These are comparitively very low temps; I'm guessing this is where the extra fan is being used. If these temps are true then I'm sure the fans have been beefed up considerably, which means the noise is worse as well.

Believe it or not, this actually is my biggest concern, and the biggest heat generator. Honestly, who needs a quad core desktop processor in a gaming notebook?

Well I wonder why you would do that... during idle operation this would be a waste. As I said earlier, you are probably barely using a single CPU core at idle, and your GPU's certainly are also barely being used.
