video card display problems.
hi - i have a sager np 9750 with a quadro fx 1400 video card. last night while playing portal the screen froze and filled with some weird artifacts. now i am only able to start the computer in safe mode and i am getting weird artifacts (see image) all over the screen. I have tried reinstalling the video card and updating the drivers with no luck. I have a feeling the video card might be fried as when i try to open the nvidia display property settings or try to change the resolution, nothing seems to happen.
I am wondering if someone can confirm whether this is a video card issue and also, if it's not too much trouble, explain how to remove the heat sink and video card or post a good link with advice on how to do this. thanks. ![]() |

hey - thanks steve - i think i'd have to send it back to the sager and to be honest i've had a pretty crap experience with them so far, so i think i'm just going to put the money towards a new notebook.
