Clevo D900T is beeping at me!
Haven't posted here in ages.. but I've got a problem, and I remember you guys being a helpful bunch, so here I go!
When ever I play a game, my laptop starts beeping and the caps lock and scroll lock LED lights start flashing. It's not my battery running low (it also beeps when the battery is low), because it's plugged in and it's still indicated to be running on AC power. What's wrong with my laptop? It's really annoying to be playing a game and having my laptop beep at me! Specs: Clevo D900T/ITC Metabox 740S Pentium 4 660 (3.6GHz, 2MB Cache) 2GB 533 DDR2 2x 60GB 7200rpm HDD nVidia GeForce Go 7800 GTX 256MB GDDR3

my d900c does the same exact thing. i caught it on tape. i am getting a replacement since i am still within the 30 day return policy. sager tech support told me it is due to heat related issues. i do not know if the motherboard is bad or the graphics cards. it will do this in single gpu mode and in sli.
edit, i think if you run max fans during gameplay it will not beep. my d900t never beeped. ironically, my new and improved d900c beeps. you can enable max fans on your d900t by pressing fn+f2.

Sounds like the BIOS is ensing an overtemp condition. Has it also been ages since you removed the lint from blocking the fan vents of your CPU heatsink? You should probably check it out, and also replace the thermal paste on your CPU and GPU heatsinks. It's fast and easy maintenance, and critical for this particular notebook.

my 7700 started doing this just recently and it starts beeping once the cpu get to about 75 degrees C. I found a fan that had stopped working which is causing it to overheat.
And go figure I dont think this fan can be replaced without removing the whole motherboard. Bengal |
