Amilo m6450g backlight not working

My backlight on my Amilo m6450g is not working. The screen is working, as I can see unilluminated stuff on the screen if I look closely but it's not being lit from behind. This problem appeared recently intermittently whereby I'd bring the laptop out of hibernation and the backlight was not illuminated but closing and opening the screen would activate the backlight, but now it seems to be permanent. Is it possible that it is the switch attached to the screen opening and closing that is broken rather than the backlight itself? If so, where is that switch located?

Thanks,

Craig

i would suggest that u take the screen apart and visually inspect all cables first, using this as reference

Same problem - were you able to fix it?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem and while googeling I found this Thread. I was wondering if you were able to solve the problem and what it was. Also could it be the LCD Inverter?
