SyRiNx0 is a n00b, but everyone loves n00bs!
with process explorer I can find the svchost.exe but what can I do with it?
in properties the only service connected to this is the remote procedure call :s
it can be that it is the wrong one, because now it still is only 3% cpu

but are you sure it is the same one, because mine happens very slowly,
I have restarted the nvidia service a couple of hours ago and still 3%,
and the problem is (temporarily) over when I restart the nvidia service,

so I think that the problem is purely the (mobileforce) nvidia driver,
because it didn't happen when I use the dell driver

I used process explorer to sniff out the root. In my case, it was the Creative crap. I then uninstalled/reinstalled drivers (without the HD package).

If it ends up not being Creative drivers in your particular scenario, you will still be able to see what the root cause is. After you find it, you'll be able to determine whether or not it's safe to kill/unload the process (via "services.msc" command).

I had to wait for my CPU to load up (to 50%) before I was able to track down the problem.

Edit: Also make sure you follow Fenuxx's driver install instructions HERE

ok, thnx for the fast answers
I didn't exactly follow the guide but I did run drivercleaner pro after the first reboot
and I was planning to do it exactly like the guide says sometime later
but for now I will let svchost claim more cpu and then I will use process explorer again
so that will be a while because it did +-30% in 12 hours :s and now it is 5-6% :s

You're welcome. And FWIW...I've yet to encounter serious issues with any of the full release versions of MobileForce drivers.

The only 'hiccup' I've seen is with Vista's UAC and driver signing....but there are ways around that.

that's why I put brackets round "mobileforce" it could entirely nvidia's fault
but I will see later what the fault is with process explorer

I have been looking for good drivers for months now. OmegaDrivers just likes to have a website, but with no productive work. Laptopvideo2go is always a sure bet, but never see any true improvements. And tweakforce, well the XG-Mobile are just terrible, they always seem to cause some sort of fatal error.

Thanks NBF, these are the first truly great drivers I've seen for Mobile users. Its nice to find drivers that are dedicated to us mobile users. These have better IQ than any I've tried, and Ive actually have frame rate improvement in high quality details.

Just for reference: Using Asus G1, 7700 512mb. And I ran COD4 in 1280 800 @ High Detail and WoW @ 1680 1050 High Detail @ 120 FPS.

I was running the Nvidia drivers from the Nvidia website, version 169.xxx, for my 7950GTX. I just installed these drivers here.

Any idea as what FPS improvement I will see on games like Age of Conan or WoW?

now it's back at 20-30% but I still can't see anything in process explorer
but in svchost.exe there are 3 threads that use the cpu all 3 are kernel32.dll
I can't see anything else, so now I'm gonna reinstall using the guide

Is it not showing you where the offending process is originating from?

the only service registered in the svchost.exe is the remote procedure call (RPC) service

I have reinstalled the driver following the guide and I'll see if it solved anything

and it's not that big of a problem I just need to restart the nvidia service and it's back to normal then

which is kinda weird as I didn't do anything special

Fenuxx is cool enough to have people show up to his/her party!
That's why you need to follow the driver reinstall guide.

I think it's doubtful that that was the only reason
because I did clean after I uninstalled the driver like the guide says
so maybe just reinstalling solved the problem even if I wouldn't have followed the guide but lets say it was because of the guide
