EX7 (D900T) freezing, not booting
I have a Hypersonic EX7 (D900T) and its been acting up lately. Half the time I turn it on the screen and clock on the front are blank but it sounds like its booting up.
The other times it will turn on (screen and clock will come on) but it will freeze, sometimes before Windows even boots (bios) When it does boot Windows it will usually freeze eventually, there are times where it will be fine for an hour or two but that is rare before it freezes. Its a P4 3.0ghz, 6800go, the battery died a year ago but never replaced it, been running via AC since then. The original motherboard had its hard drive controller fry like 2 years ago so I installed a replacement motherboard back then. Other than that it has been working fine until recently. Help! ![]() ps, I posted this in the Other section as well, hope that isn't a problem. |

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with your system.
If possible, I would like to have you try testing out the memory to see if it is a factor. Try booting the system up using one stick at a time. We may be able to isolate it as an issue one of the modules that way. Please let me know once you have tried that out. |

I tried swapping out the ram. I have two 512mb and one 1024mb ram sticks. Tried every configuration possible with leaving one stick in and mix matching, etc. Still no luck.
Is there any way I can see if the system is giving proper voltage to the CPU or other components? I really have a feeling its a problem with the power. |

That I know of, there really isn't one. You can try running Everest to see how everything is going in the machine, or to see if the battery is getting a proper charge.
If the system keeps freezing regardless of memory, then it may be motherboard related. PM me your invoice number and I will have someone drop you a call to see if we can fix this issue for you. |

Well I have been trying to do a complete format of the hard drive but whenever I do that, scan disk, or anything I get the blue screen of death telling me to remove any new hard drives, hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart.

I have a new blue screen of death now.
So I reset my BIOS to the default settings, made the CD/DVDROM the first boot device and proceeded to install XP Pro. I pressed F6 and loaded the XP raid drivers like normal and usually I get the original BSOD I had posted earlier but this time it made it past the part and up came the section of the installation where you select which partition to install Windows on but there were 4 blank spots as if it couldn't find anything then up came the new BSOD talking about memory caching, how I should update my BIOS, etc. I'm so confused. |
