Help With Dell Inspiron 6000

Alright well, I know nothing about lap tops. I've wanted one for a while now, and I have been offered a trade for one of my more expensive paintball guns. So, in order to make a good deal, I need to know how much this lap top is worth and what it will do for me. If anyone could tell me what a used one without a battery is worth, it would be a great help. Also, an overview of what I will get out of it would be great as well. Like I said, I'm very uneducated about this so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

the laptop is worth about 300-400 on ebay. it can do basic stuff like surfing, word, excel, pending on the ram but it can easily be upgrade. good size and could be carried around. don't expect gaming, but board or puzzle games are ok. watch movies ect. you get what you paid for. hope that helps.
