Question Blue Screen Caused by Bad Battery?

Hello Everyone,

My 8790 started having blue screens. I have done the following things.

1) Ran memtest86 and Microsoft memory diagnostics. Both passed!

2)Reformatted windows using a full format and ran check disk afterwards. Smart reports the disk is still good and no evident disk problems.

3) Reinstalled stock drivers for the system off of sagers website.

4) Took the bad boy apart and made sure it was spotless inside. Applied new thermal compound to video card and CPU. Mobile monitor reports a 37c CPU idle temp and an equally low HD temp.

I think it may be the battery! The blue screen changes error codes every time! The battery does not hold a charge at all.

Anyone have an opinion or advice?

I had the motherboard replaced in June of 2005 due to artifacting. It did not return and everything was running great until this BSOD issue!
