Dell Inspiron 700M - Battery Charging Problem

Since i didnt get any response in the Help section i will try my luck in this thread.

Still need help !!

I have been looking for 2 days and could not find any answer for this particular problem. I have found a lot of threads about it but none of them actually ended up being solved.

Problem:

When i boot up my laptop, it starts just fine, then shows the DELL logo with the boot option (Press F2 for boot setup , etc) , then it goes to a black screen saying that:

"Battery can't be identified. This system will be unable to charge the battery until this battery is removed."

Press F1 to continue

I mean how can you charge the battery if the battery is not in the laptop. Bah..

Also, how do you check if the battery is in bad/good condition?
since it doesnt have the led indicator thing. Is there a way to make sure that the battery is bad or good?

I just noticed as well that the battery is actually recognized. When i go to Device Manager and click on the battery icon, it says the battery is charging.

sooo....

Hellppppppppppppppppppppppp !!!!!

Will reflashing my BIOS to A00 (initial/original version) solve my problem?

Have anyone tried Ebay batteries before and is it recommended?

It sounds like this is very frustrating for you. And unfortunately there is not alot you can do to diagnose batteries.

Flashing the BIOS again will not help.

There is something wrong with your battery or the charging circuitry. And it is probably something you cannot fix yourself.

Sorry about all of this trouble.
