lcd Inverter

I have an f730us lap top that I purchased refurbished on ebay. The first time I turned it on lcd was very dim. I purchased an inverter and installed it, however it failed after about an hour. I am hesitant to install another inverter as I am wondering if something else is wrong with this computer. Does anyone have any ideas?

I am a little suspicious about this as far as the inverter goes. When you say it was dim, was it still "viewable", or basically, not back-lighted at all? If it was just "dim", then that was not likely the inverter. I have never seen an inverter that either worked, or did not, no middle ground, although that may only be my experience. It is easy when replacing these to inadvertantly "crimp" a wire, however. You might try dis-assembling and double check how the connecting wire is lying.
