Sony Vaio VGN-AR825E Windows XP 32-Bit Drivers

Here are all of the driver's to get this laptop fully working and functional in Windows XP. If you don't have Windows XP already installed I would suggest using nLite to slipstream all of these drivers into your Windows XP CD, especially the SATA driver so your XP install can see your hard drive. I made a fully working Windows XP Pro cd with drivers included for this laptop if anyone is interested in that as well.

Restoring these files with Driver Magician would be easiest, though installing the drivers one by one would work just as well.

http://ian2.com/drivers/XP_VGN-AR825E_Drivers.rar (88MB WinRAR File)

Here is a generated report of all of the files in this archive:
http://ian2.com/drivers/XP_VGN-AR825E_Drivers.htm

If anyone can mirror, it would be appreciated.

I appreciate you uploading this set of drivers to integrate through nLite. However, it didn't work as seamless as I wished it had.

I went to intergrate the drivers through nLite into my sp1 winXP folder and created a iso, then burned it to disc. However, I can't get the Sata drivers to load correctly so I can get to the install screen in Win XP.

Thanks for your help in advanced.

SP1? why are you using SP1? Do you have the latest version of nLite? Worked flawlessly for me, just extract all the files from the RAR into any ordinary folder, run nLite, find your winXP install or extract the files off your disc, select to slipstream the drivers in nLite, and select the folder which you extracted the RAR archive to, itll pick up all the drivers, select all and continue on your way. If this doesnt help and you are stuck, I can upload an ISO for you. Let me know if this helps at all.

My bad. I meant SP2. Yes, I have the latest nLite. I did exactly as you explained. It might be a conflict between the copy of WinXP I have (which has already been slipstreamed with other things) and the driver intergration, I don't know.

I will email you the information. Again, I appreciate your help man.

I am having the same problem this is what I did first i downloaded everything . I installed nlite and extracted the drivers to a folder. Then I inserted my xp disk in and selected slip stream and I saved it to the desktop then I kept going through the setup and clicked intigrate drivers and selected the folder that I extracted them to and selected them all and kept going then I clicked make bootable ISO and saved it and when it was done I burned it to a dvd+r and put the disk into my vaio and restarted it and booted from cd and it still keeps giving me the hard drive error. PLEASE HELP

hey vap3r

i downloaded your rar file and i have the exact same model AR825e. Also used the Driver magician to restore all the driver backups. now here is the problem. everytime i reboot there is an error in the startup of nvidia card.

Also audio is a problem even if all drivers are installed, No audio are coming out. I am just curious as to why there are both REALTEK and Sigmatel drivers in your rar file. is this correct?

hope you can enlighten me as to how you were able to get the notebook running.

another thing, have you the the FN key for brightness of the screen? is it working?

appreciate any updates that you can give

Honestly I can't enlighten you, the laptop I did this on wasn't even mine it was my friends from out of state. Wish I could help more.. If there are 2 different audio drivers then did u try both? You may have to install one and then disable it and install the other.. I honestly don't remember.

I am having the same problem with my audio. Everything else seems to function and according to the device manager all drivers are installed and functioning properly, just no audio device except for the SPDIF Optical Out. Every time the machine boots I receive an error; Realtek HD Audio Manager List index out of bounds (-1).

Any information that could help resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

I just have done the same thing with my VGN-AR825E. After searching for all kind of versions for the SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC. I found one that can fix the Device cannot start Code 10 error in Device Manager. Which is 5.10.5067.0. Here is the link:
http://www.mikestechnicalservice.com/v4.5/downloads.php I now can hear the sound again.
Hope this will work for you!
