Whens the next up-dated MBP 15" comming out?

From what I've been reading on line they seem to come out with new up-dated model every 6 months or so.

& the current one seems to of come out this past Feb.

I plan on buying the Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Penryn).
Very soon, but figure maybe I should wait just a bit longer till they bring out the next one.

Does anyone have any insite into this?

This will be my very 1st Mac.
I've using an old Dell inspiron 1150 for over 3 years now & its time for the move to a Apple.

& I planned to do all the up-grades when I order it, such as:

a 200GB 7,200-rpm drive over the stock 250GB, 5,400-rpm drive.
From my readings I'll get much better performance from the 200GB if I dont mind the heat?
Is that a worthwhile swap?

I'll get the 4GB RAM and a 2.6-GHz T9500 processor .

The rumors are saying that the new laptops will be out at the beginning of next month.

Don't upgrade the memory through Apple they're too expensive.

Wont it void the warrenty if I had someone other than them doing mods to it?
Besides I dont have a clue how to modify a LapTop.

I'd love to learn though, maybe after I get my Mac I can learn on this Dell I have right now though.

RAM is user replaceable and will not void your warranty unless you break something while doing it. Replacing RAM on the MacBook Pro is as simple as removing the battery and undoing a screw or two.

You will need a Torx T8 or T9 driver ifmemory serves, other than that you should be fine. I believe it is three screws on the MBP, or is on mine anyways I think.

No Torx screws until you get inside the computer. The ones on the memory door are Philips 00

I believe you are correct after checking ifixit.com I think those are phillips. Now I am racking an alcohol soaked mind for where those Torx were that I ran across.

So is there any more news about the latest updated MBP?

The month is about over & my current laptop wont stay on anymore unless I have it propped up with an exterenal fan at its vents.

But I dont wanna buy my new MAC till the latest version is released.

Yeah, the employee's most likely don't know anything more than what you know. If they told everyone new notebooks will be released tomorrow no one would buy the current ones.

Also, another good site is macrumors.com

Thanks for the link. Looks like another cool site.
& yes I agree about why they dont tell us about the new ones comming out.

Just like me, most would wait.
Hell, I'm waiting & have no clue when its comming out.

October 14th seems like a VERY good bet now.

http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/09/a...-october-14th/

Whether you will be able to buy one that day(Or week) is unknown. You will likely be able to order one however.
