Important for users of certain Intel Ethernet Chips

http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pag...item&px=Njc0Nw

From what I can see, it appears the release candidates for 2.6.27 had a very serious bug that would corrupt the firmware on the ethernet driver. This will only affect you if you used those release candidates, which isn't to many folks I would imagine, however there are specific betas of distributions that will be affected. This is of course why betas and RCs exist, to catch these before they become wide spread so the process works, but to be certain, if you have an affected chip do not use these betas and RCs.

Gonna stick this for a while, will likely remove sometime after 2.6.29 or 2.6.30 comes out. By that point I think any danger of this will have passed.

Unstickying it now that 2.6.30 has hit. Hopefuly by now anyone building this kernel themselves will be utilizing a newer one and this won't be an issue, and the distributions by now should have already fixed this.
