Heise30 is a n00b, but everyone loves n00bs!
How good is this?

I'm going to be buying a computer soon and I was wondering how good it would do for playing games like Crysis and Far Cry 2.

It's going to have a Core 2 Duo @ 2.8 ghz, 4GB of DDR 3 RAM, and dual Radeon HD 3870's.

I've been told it will do great, just want a second opinion.

Woody87 has a few people on his/her side.
I'd be interested to see some benchmarks. I don't know if anyone has actually tested and benchmarked a crossfire mobile 3870 system yet.

He'll be testing it, overclocking it and giving the lowdown.

Thanks. I saw that one. He's overclocked the CPU a bit but the graphics cards are running stock so it's a good test. Based on some interpolation and adjustments for the OS I'm going to say that a pair of HD3870 cards in a mobile crossfire setup is going to compare roughly to a single NVidia 9800M GTX but because we're dealing with different cards and crossfire vs. single it's hard to say and performance will probably vary considerably in direct real world comparisons.
