G50VT also has X1 and X2 series. But seems like A1 and A2 are more expensive, equipped with slight faster CPU, higher screen res and bigger hard drive capacity (talking about dual HDD here).

A1 specs > http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-g50vta1-order-p-2479.html

You can go ahead google for all the series. But what i found is that X1 is the best value vs performance then all 3 others.

Hard Drive
500 GB 5400RPM SATA 2.5" (250GB X2)

What is the deal with that? newegg & gentchPC states it comes with a 500 gb 7200RPM

Anyway, i just ordered it from gentechPC, i am no computer expert but i will post back and let you know my unbiased opinion on if i like the laptop or not. I got the A1, the only things i can see that are different are a blue ray player & more 140gb more ram. Wasn't worth it for me

If you like high resolution screens avoid the X1 model. I returned mine to BB because of that. Had to eat the restocking fee but I knew I wasn't going to be happy with it. Then I looked at the A1 and bought it from newegg. It's awesome! No regrets at all.

The A1 does come with 500GB of hard drive space. It's just that it's spread across 2 250GB 7200 RPM drives. No biggie.

You're gonna love the A1!
