HP Pavilion dv6810us Review

I got this laptop about a week ago and have been fiddling with all the settings and whatnot since then. Since there was a lack of reviews for this laptop (and the graphics card for that matter) I decided to write one. First off, the graphics. Nvidia Gefoce 7150M. For an IGP it probably beats out the competition. Lets not forget the I in IGP however. This laptop comes with 3 gigs of ram but only 2 is really usable by the system. The Graphics card works well but on a system with less bus speed and less ram, I wouldn't recommend it. (Fyi, this has 1600 system bus speed(I think)) To give you guys an idea of what this card/system can play, it can play Battlefied 2142 perfectly on low detail, decently on medium(I wouldn't recommend that for online play however) and not really on High detail. (haven't tried any other games yet). Other features on this laptop all work as advertised, its a good laptop if you find a good price (I'm cheap). The software that comes with it isn't too much of a hassle either. Hp does include some software designed to help people who don't know what they are doing but everything is easy to control and deal with. If this system came with a dedicated video card instead of an IGP, it would be gravy. Oh, and Photoshop Cs4, this will run that pretty much flawlessly. Do you research, avoid any hp with the Nvidia 6150 (dv6000-6400s) because they chose to not use flux in their solders which when exposed to longish periods of heat would melt and short out. Nevertheless, I highly recommend the later half of the 6000 series (dv6500-6900s) with the 7150m.

Tip: don't spill stuff on your keyboard.
