NP8790 battery-where to buy replacement?
Hello everyone, My 5 year old NP8790 (3.4GHz P4) still works, albeit hot and noisy. The battery died a long time ago. So it has lost much of its portability. Nevertheless I still like the crispiness of the keyboard, compared to my new HP DV7T and it is still fast and allows me to do all my work on it. I'd like to hand this one down to someone else.
Can anyone suggest where I can buy a replacement battery (D870PBAT-8, 14.8V, 4800mAh) for this ol' work horse? I've checked many online retailers. BatteryRefill.com aka Ebattery.com have a very bad review, 1000s of complaints on line. Many aftermarket battery sellers list a 10.8V 4800mAh or 5400mAh battery. Pro-Star has the same for $110 (as of this writing). But I'd like to get one with a higher capacity. Also, I'm worried that if the battery has been on the shelf for a few years, then it may not really have much time left. (Perhaps the laptop may not either. I had to change out the HDD a couple of years ago.) Sager offers a 12 cell battery on their website for $185. That's too much. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks |

Hi,
I bought a D870PBAT-12, 14.8V and 6600mAh, from China. Think it was $ 90-100 with shipping. The laptop will run for about 90-110 minutes with that battery. Just a pity it is running that loud. Roger, Huskvarna, Sweden |
