I just purchased an Alienware M17x off eBay. I tried to call Alienware to purchase a customized name plate and they told me since I did not purchase it from them, they will not sell me anything!!! I was kinda floored when I heard that and ended up cussing out the Alienware customer service.

Now, I can upgrade the RAM, hard drives, and CPU very easily and inexepensively...

My question is how can I go about buying another 8700M or getting 2 9800Ms? Is there anywhere I can buy those? Or do I need to call Alienware and beg them to sell to me??? lol

Did you buy from there outlet store on Ebay? I bought mine that way and have had no problems talking to them. Even got the My-Hive info. I asked about updates and they said it would not be a problem as long as parts are still avaliable.

No, I got it from someone else. I just hate they will not let me buy video cards and such. It would be like Ford or GMC telling their customers they cannot buy parts to fix thier cars since they did not buy them directly from them.

The only other way I know of is to find out who makes the m17x for alienware. I am not sure who it is I know the m7700 was made by clevo and serveral different companies sold them and parts from say a sager model would work in a alienware model. I just went to an ingraver printed a copy of the plate design and had it made can not even tell its not real cost 9 bucks
