You can actually. You need to buy slim LEDs that can be powered by a USB connector I believe.

Yep, but the trick is to feed the cable leading to it, using internal tinkering at the usb power outlet from the board; since the LCD cable is tight fit as it is, pushing through the hinges.
It will be an interesting weekend job ![]() cheers ...
