D510 BIOS reset help
We have some (old) Latitude D510 laptops that are used by students and apparently a couple of them did not have the bios locked out and these kids have discovered this. We have two machines that are locked out and Dell is not being very helpful in the reset. Of course these machines are way out of warranty and not worth purchasing a new system board which is what Dell is now saying.
I was issued a reset/clear password and then they tell me to hold control and hit enter twice but the computer does not accept the password. This unit was known to be working before the system password was set. I'm at a loss here, I can't boot from a CD or anything like that in order to try reflashing the bios or other tricks I've seen online. Any thoughts out there??
