Exclamation Windows Updates

Sometimes Updates don't download completely but get installed all the same. Trouble is that it seems that there's no way of trying to get these updates re-downloaded. I think Microsoft should put a list of all Updates on their site (which doesn't seem to be the case, except the Definition Update !
when downloading Updates I'm always crossing my fingers that they don't stop at 99 percent. It's rare but it has happened. Does anyone know why we can't access failed updates, after all if they can give u the possibility of getting the Definition Updates they shud also do it for every Update they publish ?????

The thing is that they install but don't finish downloading and it's only about one in fifty, I shud think. I'd just like the possibility of just getting the one that doesn't make it, especially when it's an important one, or even optional, if I think I need it ; for example there was an optional Intel Wifi 5100 AGN Update a couple months ago that installed but was marked as failed. Of course for that I had to go to the Intel Website, but even there I never found the Update in question .... Still I suppose it's so rare that it doesn't really matter.
Thanks anyway !!!

Interesting that you mentioned a failed installation of the Wifi device. This seems to be common on Vista, for many brands/models. And sometimes picking up the driver direct from the manufacturers do not help either, if you can find, that is.

This might have to do with Vista blocking out some drivers that are deemed (rightly and wrongly) causing system instability.

If this is what was happening with your comp, I chalk it as devices manufacturers not up to par yet with Vista requirements.

p.s. - you don't need to "bold" your post

cheers ...

that way.

What browser are you using? You can try adjusting rendering/display size to accommodate your view.

cheers ...

Well I do use the mouse to zoom in sometimes. Perhaps I should use it more often. I've gotta go the oculist one day, never get around to it. one pair of glasses for reading , one for the computer and another for the TV, and I'm going on 62, it's all a bit tiring for the eyes in the end...... But no problem in zooming in , except for certain windows where I can't do it.

If you use Firefox, I recommend No Squint and Firesizer Add Ons. These 2 combined would give full control over how sites look and present themselves, global or individual.

cheers ...
