It is gonna be tough. I can only suggest that you tried with different standard USB Web cam driver and hope to hit a jackpot.

Can you post some pics of the Web cam in question?

cheers ...

I wonder if there are generic webcam drivers out there? Have you tried using these?

. Does your comp recognise "a" device when the web cam is being plugged in?

. If yes, you can always use the manual installation process, to point the device to look for the driver where you store it.

. If not, then there is the possibility that the cam is defect.

cheers ...

Well yes my laptop does recognize THE webcam that I plug into the USB, and then I do choose the manual process and click on I do have a disk, then I select the location of the driver and when it searches, no luck . How is the detail process when I have to choose a driver manually in Windows Vista. I just want to see if I missed out or step or something. The files that this standard drivers have are
amcap.exe
Domino.exe
StillCap.exe
usbVM31b.sys
usbvm31b.inf
usbvm31b.cat
VM31bPrp.Ax
VM31bSTI.dll
VM31bTWN.DS
VM301Snap.exe
VM31bx64.sys
VM31bTXP.DS
VMCap.exe.

Any Ideas on what do I do?

Have you tried to point it directly to where the INF file locates?

Try also one of these drivers ..

Hi hashhmm,

Kindly check out this site: http://www.cdrking.com.ph/

In it, you should see a downloads section, then look for PC Camera sub-section, there are a lot of generic drivers for different kinds of webcams there. I found one which physically looks like what you have but I'm not sure. Best for you to have a look and download yourself.

I remembered that I just bought a generic webcam for my dad a few weeks ago and it had generic drivers.

Hope this helps!

p.s. If you have problems downloading, let me know so I can download it for you and upload it somewhere else for you to get it...
