Looking for a New Laptop for University.

Hello, I am currently moving on into University and will not be able to use my Desktop computer as much. My laptop is becoming outdated in every way and I am looking for a replacement.

Currently have a 15.4" Acer Aspire Core 2 Duo 1.66ghz Laptop. 1GB DDR2 Ram.

Budget: ~$1,600 CAD Maximum (Tax-In).

I am in need of help looking for a laptop that meets these standards.

- Portable *11-13" Screen
- Thin and Light *4.5lbs or less.
- Battery Life *Looking for 6hours+ off standard battery.
- Durable *Prefer to stay away from plastic
- Ports *2x USB2.0 is a must, Express Card/34, Optical Drive
- Solid State Harddrive or 2.5" HDD spacing to install a 3rd pt. SSD
- Minimum Performance of C2D 1.2Ghz +, 2GB DDR2/3
- Graphics *GMA 4500MHD
- Style *Something with not much gloss.

So far, the model's I found that I like are:
- Lenovo X200 or X200s
- Sony Vaio TZ
- Sony Vaio SR490
- Asus U20a
- Lenovo U110
- Macbook Pro 13"
- Samsung X360 - 34G
- Samsung X460 - 41S (new) or 44G (Refurb)
- Acer Aspire 3935

Any recommendation? I need a laptop which hits as many of my requirements with the best value.

Thanks.

Fits all your needs except battery performance, but i have a feeling it will last a solid amount of time (4 - 5 hrs) due to the small screen.

Probably the best processor and graphics card you can find on a 13.3" machine.

I like that notebook a lot but do not think it meets OP's needs for so many reasons. It is more gaming oriented with th best GPU in class. Also the batt time is around 2hrs.

I do like it though!

I have a feeling that won't be able to last 6 hours >.<. Also its over budget for me. Unfortunately NewEgg.com won't ship to Canada as there is a NewEgg.ca site dedicated for Canadian users. And NewEgg.ca sells that laptop for $1549.99 + another $100 for shipping + Tax.

I think XoticPC will ship to Canada, $1224 US, link. Also it says 2+ hrs. So 6 hr no way. I have an Asus and can say battery life is the only issue I find with Asus.
