[Wireless Cards] Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 b/g vs Intel 5100AGN a/b/g/n

Hi Guys,
quick question on the above two wireless cards. I recently bought a Thinkpad online and was told that the Intel card would be installed. On getting the machine at home, I found out that the Broadcom card was actually in the machine.

Now, the question I have - is there sufficient enough difference in these cards (cost-wise, functionality-wise) to kick up a fuss with the vendor?

The techie in work thinks not but I thought I would put it out there and see what you guys think.

Steve.

They should be interchangeable as far as installation goes. But I personally would not move to the N card at the moment until the standard has been finalized, sometimes at the end of this year.

cheers ...

Its not like I will be using the N standard any time soon - the problem is the machine was advertised with one spec and but the one purchased came with different kit. The price difference will fairly small I would imagine but still...principle etc :-)

I see. Then I would push them to replace it or give me some sort of financial compensation

cheers ...
