The factory hard drive on my Aspire 7720-6604 recently crashed and I replaced it with a similar 320Gb one from NewEgg. Since I didn't like the Vista Ultimate 64 bit that came on it (and I neglected to make the recovery disks because I didn't like it so much) I installed Windows XP Pro on the new hard drive. Most things are giong smoothly now, but I am having a problem getting USB devices to be recognized. The odd thing is that the device manager shows there as being 5 Standard Universal PCI to USB Host controllers and 5 USB Root Hubs under the USB Controllers category, but there are 2 USB Controllers under the Other Devices category that do not have drivers. I've looked on Acer's site and they do not offer USB drivers for Windows XP, as I expected for an OS that is no longer supported, but does anybody know where I can find the drivers I need to get my USB Controllers working? I need to be able to access my external USB hard drive that most of my files are backed up on. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer!
