i have Dell inspiron 1300 and bought manhattan cooling pad. Till then i always noticed cpu and hdd temp changes in real time, without rebooting my notebook.
When i stared this pad everything was nice, notebook worked for 8h no stop, with cpu temp 39c and hdd 34c. When i reboted notebook cpu temp jumped to 51c and hdd was same (about 34). I repeated this and i got 51c again.... I wondering what readings of temperature are correct? I use Everest to monitor my cpu/hdd temp. Tnx in advance!

after every reboot cpu jumps to 51c :s i need to keep it turned off for a vile to get normal temp...

51C is on the high side but still within safe operating range. You might want to look into NHC or RMClock to monitor temp and fan control. Time for new thermal paste?

51C onload sounds fine, but the fan should start to get it down by then. Try to learn when the fan will spin at what temp.

If its a year old laptop, there will be dusts on the vent/heatsink.

i will try to clean it but still dont get it how can temp jump for 10+ c after single reboot and keep that high until i shut it down for 30min or more....

Ambient heat, dissipation rate via thermal paste per example can cause the temp to stay high for a while.

Ok, but is it possible that something with temperature sensors is wrong? It is very wired that after reboot temperature jumps for 10, 12C and wont get down... Computer is not used even for 10min.... and if i run it all day without reboot temperature is still 40C... How is that possible?

Sure that the sensors can be wrong, but until you take it apart and measure it, it is all a guessing game. And as long as your comp does not overheat, not much anyone can do.

now i downloaded hardware sensors monitor soft. and i noticed interesting thing... there are 4 types of temp, mainboard, hdd,cpu and temp3. That temp3 is the same one i first see in everest for example about 40c, that after restart shows as 50... this sofware shows both temp3 and cpu. what is temp3

Reboot with out cooling pad on so as that notebooks internal fan can directly cool the system. When temps cool down turn on pad.

I say this because the only change in the equation is the cooling pad. I think I know why it is happening but no one wants to read that kind of detail. Also you don't mention what the old boot up temps because prior to this you likely didn't pay attention. Boot temps are higher than idle as system is under load.
