Fenuxx is cool enough to have people show up to his/her party!
Maybe I need someone to bash me over the head to get things done...

No wonder I'm so damn disorganized and forgetful, I haven't had a woman in my life for 2 years.

Don't worry about it Tony. Sometimes it's better to take things slow. You moved pretty fast from beta to final too. sorry I wasn't around over the weekend to update the news post. If you PM me your goals on release dates I can be more prepared, or you could submit your own news post in the future.

It was mostly a joke (except the part about not having someone to bash me over the head to get things done... and the being forgetful and disorganized part... and the not having a woman to bash me over the head and keep me organized and remembering things part ).

I'll get the beta testers write up for you within the hour, I swear.

PM Sent.

Also, thanks for the news post, you should change the news title to "NBF MobileForce XP/Se7en 190.38 Released and just link to the general MobileForce forum (http://www.notebookforums.com/forum304.html) that way people know there is an XP version available as well.

Wasn't sure if you wanted me to post news about them or not, that's why I hadn't done it before, but now that I know it's okey-dokey, I'll definitely do it in the future.

Houston, we have a problem. I was looking for jobs and just browsing in Firefox, with PerfectDisk 10 running in the background, nothing else happening, and I got this (clickable thumb):

I took a quick snap of it with my phone before rebooting (sorry, my camera is effed up on my phone -- it blurs the hell out of the left half of my pictures). It locked the whole computer up, too. I rebooted, and the second I went back into FireFox and it was restoring the tabs, the same thing happened again. This time, I rebooted into Safe Mode, deleted the overclock profiles, and rebooted normally to revert to default clocks. It seems to be working fine now. Odd that the same overclock I've been using since I got the laptop would just now start to not be possible (couldn't keep it with the betas either, due to overheating -- but still didn't get that corruption in 2D mode EVER before). Oh well, I'll just keep it at stock for now. Maybe it's just the 190.38's.

Anyways...

It was after the demand got higher (with I think 81.87) that I started shipping my INFs to JR to put up installers for (didn't have high speed intarwebs at the time) and it just kinda took off from there.
Yeah, I remember your 81.87's were the first ones with the installer (that was messed up anyways, LOL), and the first ones you really started doing your own thing with them. They were awesome drivers, though! I remember telling you I was going to "advertise" them everywhere I could, which I did here, at HardOCP.com (which I have been "Banned" from for years because I was using AdBlock... ), on games I played, word of mouth, etc... PR power, LOL!

72 total downloads of the beta, but only a couple people reported in. Makes me kinda sad.

As Steve said, I'm sure there'll be more downloads now that there are front page posts and more people know you are back. It HAS been a year or so since you've been active, so I think a lot of people gave up on checking for your new drivers. It may take a couple releases and some spreading of the word to take off again. I'll post up on LaptopVideo2Go (even though I am not registered, I post under Guest_ShnikeJSB quite a bit), and anywhere else I can.

But yeah, the whole Beta thing is annoying... People don't want to do the work, they just want to get new stuff for free...

I've got people asking me about Hybrid Graphics functionality. I'm assuming your drivers don't have it?

I think Dox's do, but I am not sure.

I assume they will, there's a few hybrid settings I have flipped on in the driver, so I would assume so.

But, again, no way of knowing cuz I've never had any testers for that area.

That looks like a fubar'ed overclock to me. That's one of the risky things about overclocking, it can be fine for a long while, then all of a sudden give you a ton of issues.

I didn notice your overclock (750/1900/1750) and that does seem kinda far for me on the core/shader clock side. I mean, my DESKTOP 9800 GTX (stock) is only at 675/1688/2200, and that has a 2 slot, full bore cooler. Maybe try backing it down a bit and see how it is?

OK, I'll let them know that there should be hybrid functionality, but we aren't sure if it works, thus one of the many reasons we need testers.

Yeah, but what is insane, is that was in 2D mode with nothing that should trip the clocks to speed, and as far as I can tell, the clocks were running at 2D speed. So, really, those artifacts came about without even coming NEAR the 3D overclock speeds.

And like I said, I deleted the overclock settings from safe mode, and rebooted so that it would revert to stock (which is 600/1600/1500). BTW, that is Core/RAM/Shader clocks. And the 512mb 9800M GTS in my laptop is really just a desktop 9600 GT, and some of the 65nm ones (1GB models are 55nm) like the eVGA one is stock-clocked at 740/1950/1830, with room to spare. I've not had any heat or artifacting problems with that overclock before. Not until these drivers (beta and finals). I'm staying at stock clocks for now, until the next ones you come out with, to see if it is indeed a card pushed beyond its limits for too long, or a driver issue.

The weird thing is, I had no problems/artifacts in any marathon gaming sessions or benchmarking with the finals since I've had them. It was in 2D mode that happened... Strange.

I got a Hybrid user over at LV2G to try these drivers. Here's what he said:
It seems like it does not work.. After installing the driver the Intel seems to work fine but the nVidia has an error in the device properties "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
Here's his post, so you can see his specs. He's running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RC, I believe.

Happened to me too while browsing the net, just browsing the net...only a slight OC on this biosmod, never happened with any other driver, works perfectly in-game so I guess it should be something within this specific driver.

Error only happened once since installation, seems fine now..might have been sitting unhappy with some other drivers idk.

Since removing the overclock and sticking with stock, it hasn't happened to me again. I'm not to keen on trying to overclock my GPU again just to see if it would happen. I COULD, if you guys really need me to test. I'd prefer not to, though, LOL!

I was just going to wait until the next release to overclock again.
