sony vaio bios password

i have a sony vaio pcg-8l1m/pcg-grz615s the screen inverter broke so i replaced it since then its asking for a password as soon as it boots up please help

Password at BIOS screen? Try removing the CMOS battery and leave it out for a few minutes and see. If this does not work, Sony is your best official bet.

I failed to see why an inverter replacement would cause a password to be entered.

you'll need to call up Sony and fax them your purchase receipt. Then they'll fix it for you.

It asked for a BIOS password after you changed the inverter? That is the strangest thing I have ever heard of. Did you try putting the old one back in to see if that goes away?

The only other thing I recommend trying out is removing the hard drive. I have seen it before when a hard drive failed, it gave that message asking for a password. I can not say it will work for sure but it is worth a shot
