Smile Upgraded from m1730 to M17x FOC

Hi There,

Im an XPS user whos system died and fought a good fight with Dell until they upgraded me to You guys at Alienware.

Any thing i should know, what i should expect?

sytem on the way is a M17x T9600, 4gb 1333mhz. 2 x 260gtx sli. 1920 1200 lcd. 250gb 7200rpm Hd,

M1730 spec in sig

not sure if the T9600 will compare with the x9000 extreme eddition?

now hav 8gb 800mhz for m1730 assume it wont fit and i need to sell.

also have j220 blueray guess that wont fit either as not slot loading so swapping to alienware is going to cost me, non original equipment not considered when doing system swap.

really excited, how do the sytems compare?

Yes,

I dont know if you shared the same problems as i have been following your other thread and you seem to have been messed about more!

my personal experiance is that Dell have tightened things up and its now more difficult to get them to agree to replacement systems,

I hit a dead end with the normal escalation from Tech suport to customer service and the escalated to customer relations manager! they refused to do anything other than to say i have to wait for the parts to fix my m1730.

I think the bigest piece of advice i could give anybody is DO NOT EXCEPT NO, if some one puts a barrier accross go around them escalate it, if they refuse contact head office.

I needed to email Michael Dells corporate office this time.

I can understand as a buisness that its expencive to replace all these systems but reputation is key and they need to protect it.

our machines are cutting edge and alot of guys here hammer them 24hrs aday. they are going to break but it shouldnt be such a battle to get them fixed.

the only sour point for me now is that i purchased 8gb or ram for my m1730 at great expence and a blueray burner, neither will fit the new system

but so excited about getting the Alienware

the m1730 is dd2 667mhz ram i bought 800mhz as it will down clock to that.

The M17x uses dd3 1333mhz ram! cheapest i have seen was £492.

thats too rich for me at the moment.

just have 2 X 4GB sodim 800mhz ram to sell now
