Dell Studio XPS 16?

I need a new laptop for school, and I need one that can handle 3d graphics well. I will be using Maya or 3ds max and After Effects. So Ive been looking at a wide variety of laptops and custom options trying to find the most bang for my buck. My budget is between $1,000-$1,500 (USD) preferably, but am maybe willing to spend a little more. I found the Dell studio XPS 16 with the following specs:
video card-ATI mobility radeon HD 4670 (1gb)
hard drive- 500 GB
optical- Bluray writer
memory- 4GB DDR3
processor- Intel Core 2 Duo p8600 (2.4ghz)
for $1,334 (USD)
this seems like a good deal to me but i dont know enough about video cards and etc to make sure this is my best option. So please comment and let me know if this laptop will suit my needs, or if you know of a better laptop/configuration for my budget. -Thanks
