To any Inspiron XPS Gen 2 owner: I need some bios information please...

If you own an Inspiron XPS Gen 2 please let me know if there is an option in the bios "boot sequence" menu to boot from the modular bay.

Thanks in advance, regards.

Maybe you can use a bootloader and chainboot it, but I'm pretty sure its not an option in the BIOS (I used to have an XPS2).

I had a M170 and like zzpulp said, there is not.

Thanks for your reply but I need confirmation from an actual/current owner of an XPS Gen 2 machine which AFAIK is the only one with 100% compatible bios with the I9300

The XPS Gen 2 manual lists the option in bios just like the I9300's manual but the choice is missing in the bios menu, that's what I'm trying to figure out

Cheers!

Yes, but Dell does not rewrite BIOS'es from scratch. My new M6300 BIOS has no less functionality than my original XPS2 BIOS. In fact, it has more functionality since it supports all previous GPUs. I don't even have the option on my machine so its almost certainly never been an option on any Dell BIOS.

There are models with the option available. I don't remember exactly but I think the 8200 and 8300 are two of them.
No offense but I'd like to hear it straight from an actual/current owner if you don't mind.

Thanks anyway. Cheers!
