Need a new screen for E1505

The screen on a friend of mine's Insipiron E1505 is cracked and he asked me to help him replace it. He thinks it's a WSXGA+ and I am trying to find a new one for him. Does it matter if I get him one that isn't the same as the original? Also, what is a good place to find a new screen?

He said the screen is a true life glossy screen. Am I to assume it is a WSXGA+?

I'm assuming its only cracked and its still somewhat usable. In this case, you can go into the BIOS and figure out what resolution the screen is. Also, on the order details it would tell you this information as well. Anyway, no it doesn't matter if you replace the screen with one that has a different resolution. The only potential problem is that he might think text is too big or too small depending on if you get a screen with a smaller or larger resolution respectively. "True Life glossy" doesn't have anything to do with the resolution of the screen in general however.

True Life refers to Dell's particular marketing slogan for glossier and sharper screens. Every screen/computer manufacturer has some slogan like this.

Glossy just means the screen reflects more light and the images typically look richer (as opposed to matte)

He sent me the order details and the screen is an SXGA+ 1680x1050 glossy "true life."

Any suggestions on where to get a new one at a good price? Is ebay a good place?

Oh whoops, left that part out. Places to go would be dell, ebay, parts-people, various forums, or maybe even amazon.
