Replacing laptop screen
I have an NP8660 and I've been wanting to replace its 1680x1050 glossy screen (which has a hair-sized scratch on it) with a 1280x800 matte screen for game performance reasons. I won't be missing those pixels and it'll futureproof the machine somewhat since 1680x1050 eats up a ton of performance compared to 1280x800 (need native resolution screen).
I'm wondering if there will be any compatibility issues or some hitch in the replacement process. Will it be a straightforward process taking out the screen? Will I be needing screen drivers? Any recommendations for screens? Thanks. |
