EEE PC 1005HA info request

greetings,

i am trying to buy a netbook for my daughter and it seems i am looking for something that does not exist.

specifically i am looking for an Asus 1005HA-PU1X-WT

premium model in white.

all i can find is black or blue.

asus.com says black-blue-white-pink

is white just a phantom color or is it just avaiable in the VU1X-WT version?

thank you for your help
bruce

You might want to jump to the 1008HA for the white.

thank you for the reponse.
she read the part about longer battery life and covered ports and decided on the 1005HA-P in blue. turns out color is not as important as battery life. she is looking forward to not being tethered to 110v.

if i may, could i ask a couple more questions?

-is this retailer OK? $$330 after rebate!
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...dlist=celebros

-is the screen on this model shiney or matte?
-should i increase the memory to 2G?

i really appreciate in advance any insights and help

I never use this reseller so can't comment on it. But since it is being promoted to accept paypal, you can check it out via paypal service.

The screen is definitively glossy on this Asus model. Hard to impossible to find a matte screen nowadays.

The more ram the better, I always max out the memory on my comps where/when I can.

cheers ...

she decided on 1005 even though she could not get white.
the 1008 has shorter battery life and the ports are covered.
she wants the battery life over color.

thanks
