The problem i have ,,a couple of week ago my mate was on my laptop and i had an universal charger which worked perfectly but when he was onit the charger blew, I look at the laptop and it had 90 odd % battrey life left. My mate was onit untill the battery ran out. I got a new charger and the battery would not charger any more it would power the lappy up but not charge the battery. So then i thought oh it need a new battery so i got a battery and the same happends power up the lappy but does not charge the battery. Does any one know what else i can try ?

It sounds to me like the charging circuit has gone bad. I've got an old laptop in the exact same situation.

Do you know how hard it is to fix or how much it would be to fix ??

I really don't know but nothing in a laptop is terribly cheap to fix in my experience.
