Can I change the drive letter assignment in HP Vista laptop?
I just got my HP laptop w Vista fixed and they assigned the drives as follows:
C: for Hard Drive 1 / Operating System D: HP Recovery Drive (also from Hard Drive 1) E: for Hard Drive 2 / Data I used to have the Recovery Drive on E: and the data on D: Will I have problem if I change the drive assignment for the recovery drive to E: and the data to D: ? I tried changing the Recovery drive to some other drive letter, and the system told me that " system/programs that rely on the drive letter may not work. Do you want to continue" (something like that) |

Seeing that you have the system back from HP, I would suggest leaving the drives assignment as it is. You'd never know what happens when you try a recovery and the system looks at a different drive as recovery source.
Got the recovery disks made? cheers ...
