Odd Windows 7 hardware incompatibility problem

I have a Seagate Free Agent Go external hard drive that has worked flawlessly with every operating system and every computer I have plugged it into... until now. For some strange and unsettling reason, it is not detected in the final version of Windows 7 on my computer (Asus Z71V notebook), even though it ran just fine in the beta and RC versions. Considering I backed up a lot of data and several programs on there, I am very concerned if I cannot retrieve it from Windows 7. If anyone has a suggestion of what I can do, I would really appreciate it! Thanks in advance.
