so dell is issuing me a refund what should i expect?

I opened this thread in the latitude section by mistake if any one can delete that one i would appriciate it. thanks

well i originally bought a 1705 that died and i got a 1730 and than it broke about a month ago. I paid 1100 some for the 1705 about 4-5 years ago and than last year i extended my complete care for another 3 years and paid 380 some dollars. so now dell is saying they do not have a 1730 and they do not have any alienware so they offered me a 1640 or refund. i said refund. so now they are processing a refund but i have a feeling i am not going to get my 1400 back. does any one know how is dell going to $rew me this time?

IronRooster is a n00b, but everyone loves n00bs!
Did they actually say they would give you a refund for that exact amount?
(about 4 years ago) I have had dell say they would refund me the purchase price of a component (I think it was a dock or ext. DVD) I didn't think I ordered for a laptop I bought.

After waiting a long time & not receiving a refund, I called them back and they said it cost zero dollars & therefore I was not going to get a refund (this was after I sent it back in) Arguing with them got me nowhere except frustrated.

I believe that Dell changes tactic, either that or they are putting another hurdle into the AW replacements ... And I personally doubt that Dell would give a full refund back.

cheers ...

My guess is because his original laptop was a E1705 the value of that laptop does not = that of an AW M17x

Hmm, I'd take a refund of my 1730 instead of the M17x... but I don't want a headache...

happymagic is a n00b, but everyone loves n00bs!
When I was getting my m1330 exchanged for a studio xps 1340, there was a delay. After about a month, Dell offered a FULL refund of the price. But I got the m1330 fully loaded on a deal, for $870, so I said no refund and took the 1340.

They gave me a brand new loaded 1340 but the warranty is the same as the old one. So I am assuming they will give you a full refund and a pro-rated refund for the warranty.

that's all I can say. Sorry it is so painful that it is hilarious. Or is it the other way around? And it is not even funny.
