ASUS G Series G71Gx-A2

Selling my Dell M4400 and found a ASUS G Series G71Gx-A2 on Newegg.com for $1800.

Anyone have experience with this system?
Some of my software will not run on Win 7 64 bit - any idea how difficult it would be to downgrade, driver-wise, on this laptop to Win 7 32 bit or even Win XP Pro?

I would try instead to install XP VM under W7. There is a sticky here to show you how.

cheers ...

Can I ask what software you are talking about? I only ask because at some point unless no alternative just replacing software can be the easiest. I do know not always true or even an option. I mean I had software that when I went from 98 to XP did not work. But not like I was going to stick with 98.

One is Sandboxie - I use it for testing software before a full install and for Web browsing. It does not work on a 64 bit O/S. Outside of the extended memory allocation a 64-bit O/S offers I have no use for it so that is why I was asking if anyone had any issues with drivers running a 32 bit O/S on this laptop.

My rule of thumb is that if the system runs with 64bits, it should have no issue running under 32bits. Different OS (version) is a totally different beast

cheers ...
