FastAccess Video Capture...
I disabled the Alien Sense log in deal with the whole facial recognition thing, and once I did this, I notice that "facap, Fast Access Video Capture" is disabled in my device manager...
I am 'guessing' that these two are connected but not reall sure. It shows up in my Imaging Devices in the Device Manager. Can someone shed some light on this? ![]()

it doesn't effect performance, so I keep it off, I just noticed it disables itself when you disable Alien Sense...

Any particular reason that you disabled AlienSense? Perhaps I can help out in that respect as well. |

Do you see the blue "Alien head" outline around your face on the login screen when you look at the camera? If you do, then you actually have sufficient lighting. Just be sure that you continue to look at the monitor/camera while logging in (instead of down at your hands, just as an example) and it should start to recognize you in short order. If the blue "Alien Head" outline is not there then you are correct about the insufficient lighting. |

no blue outline. I used a flash light to "better" the lighting then saw it but I don't want to have to do that all the time. Plus, I just don't need that added security... its just my wife and I at home hehe

The virtual camera will be disabled as long as AlienSense is simply because it's not needed....if AlienSense is not using the integrated camera then other video apps can attach to it directly. The virtual camera will automatically re-enable itself when you re-enable AlienSense. |
