9750/d900 owners, vid card replacement help?

9750 owners, or any owner of a clevo d900 shell, I really need your help. The hypersonic forum has so few viewers so I figured you guys would be a bigger help.

My hypersonic aviator fx7, which is pretty much the same as a 9750, has a bad video card and needs replacement. My nvidia go 7900gtx 512mb has crapped out. It has given me problems ever since upgrading to it from my go 7800gtx 256mb. Artifacts and random BSODs would occur every so often. In the past year the laptop has become unusable as I now get BSODs every few minutes. I am 100% sure this has to do with the video card as I have read of other go7900gtx owners having the same problem until they replaced the card. Apparently there was a bad batch when they were first produced, and I got one of them.

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement card other than ebay? Does anyone know if there is a newer model Nvidia Go that I could use that will fit in my aviator fx7/d900k? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Even though that this thread is about Dell, you probably can use as a guide/reference to see what other cards can fit.

D900 supported up to the 7950. As far as where to get them... have you asked Hypersonic? If not them have you tried Clevo's US service center?

GHN: You wouldn't happen to know what Dell called their D900/NP9750 would you?

I don't think that Dell has a comparable model to the Clevo D900 or the Sager NP9750 as we understand it. One distinct point is that Dell uses Intel and Clevo/Sager on this model uses AMD.

cheers ...

Clevo doesnt sell to Dell... they want to buy to cheap. Clevo used a modification of the MXM standard to outfit their laptops, so only a Clevo dealer/rebrander will have access to the cards.

*edit: That is unless you consider Alienware a Dell.... still have a hard time wrapping my head around that 0.o
