HP nc6000 w/ 64MB radeon 9600 mobility benchmark scores!
I have my new 64MB radeon mobility 9600 overclocked for the past 3 weeks at 333 core and 275 memory.
These are my scores: 3dmark 03 score 2100 3dmark 2001 score 8200 With the OpenGL and DirectX slider settings at 3/4 blend of performance/quality. Problem is I see people getting 10,000+ 3dmark 2001 scores and 3000+ 3dmark 03 scores...? I check their system info and they have SAME CARD SAME 64MB MEMORY and SAME OMEGA DRIVER VERSIONS! Is there something wrong with my card? |

Yes the scores I am comparing are to emachines, but the same 64MB radeon 9600 mobility and the same Omega driver versions.
my stock settings were 250 core and 200 memory. no problems for 3 weeks straight o/c. my max temperature reading using a laser-gun thermometer targetting case hotspots and metal screws close to video card (as well as motherboard inside that i can target) are 125-130 farenheit during intensive graphics. Is that too high? my vid card will not go above 390 core 300 memory without artifacts/freezes. can someone with eMachine and 64MB radeon 9600 please set 330 core 275 memory and give me their results? Maybe my machine is on target. |

unfortunately, for the nc6000 owners, nc6000 graphics cards suck. I haven't figured out why, but they do. The nc8000 seems to be immune from these problems, it gets normal scores for the type of video card it has.

Ya just sent my nc6000 back.
Beautiful machine... excellent build... no dead pixels 5.8 pounds with DVD+RW drive in and 8-cell battery whisper quiet fan all the time but.... video card sucked (stock settings were 250 core 200 mem) I think the VAIO S series is what I need... |

Sweet machine, I really wish I had your flexibility. I had to get a new computer (I need it for school) because my old one broke. I knew all the new stuff would come out in a little while, but I had no choice, the nc6000 was the best at the time. I have to admit, the little sony is the best product I have seen Sony make yet, sweet lil' machine, I waaaaant it!! Good Luck on your next purchase. Don't get me wrong, the n6000 is nice, just wanted a little more in the gaming department.

Thats good, I'll give it a try. I only overclocked mine when I first got it to see the maximum performance, which quite frankly, and expectedly, was a disappointing. Any one working for HP here? Why does your company use such questionable graphics solutions? Radeon 9200 in Centrino??? Can't be done. 8X AGP is the biggest improvement and Centrno only suppport 4X. Slow card in nc6000??? Why, you were almost all the way there HP, why stop short?
