What Benchmark is right for me?

Hello, I am buying a used laptop soon and I need to know what the best benchmarking software to get. I was thinking about getting a PC Mark as well as a 3dMark. What should I get. It is a Alienware 51m2.

When is the best time to run benchmarks? Right after you start your system when its cold or after a while of it being on?

I was thinking more along the lines of PCmark and were can you find the free versions and what do they offer are there any restrictions? Also, I was wondering if Adaware from lavasoft is a good tool for removing spy/adaware

No, that's not low at all. There is a margin of error associated with benchmark programs due to the way Windows loads and runs programs. It could be that you have some extra processes running compared to D, but 3dm03 mainly tests the GPU, and not so much the CPU. Run it a couple more time after shutting down some processes and I bet you will and I bet they will average out to about the same. You shouldn't be concerned about your score until there is a 50-100 point difference.
