Time Capsule.....

I look back just a few years ago and see how technology has changed the way we look at notebooks. There aren't the inferior "little brother" of thier desktop counterparts anymore!

I'm just curious what everyone thinks the standard notebooks will have ten years from now. What do you think about processor specifications, RAM, video card, display , anything that you can think of! Let's have some fun with this!!

HDDs will be solid state, display will be holographic, processors will be running at low frequencies.

solid state memory all the way round for sure
i was thinking more of rollable displays (in R&D currently, will try to find link i saw somewhere) than holographic ones, but those would be awesome too ;p
very high efficiency fuel cell batteries (already out)
far reduced power consumption through advanced architecture design (power = heat = main problem in microp design)

so much for the "real" ones. i want to envision multitasking systems like the wraparound virtual display in minority report, but everytime i do i realize i've just woken up. =D

Oh, and regarding processors... well Intel is going ot go into the dual processor business for laptops, so if things keep going that route, we might still have those around in 10 years, but I doubt it, as I expect much more efficient processors.
