Do you guys think that the 3200 might get any cheaper in the next three or four weeks or anytime soon? I want to buy one soon, but I don't like the price to drop fast after I buyed it.

Hopefully 1GB sticks will be pretty reasonable then.
your best bet is to buy 1gb sticks right now within the next month or so - this month is the slowest month for ram and the prices are pretty low... ram prices don't really drop significantly like other hardware pieces.. it fluctuates.. ddr2 won't be mainstream until late next year. regardless ram is so slow this month that manufacturers were considering cutting production to keep supply:demand ratio decent.. this is all considering you want to buy your new ram sometime soon and not fall 2005 etc...

Is the red paint on the case scratch proof? Or is the paint damaged quick?

I am in the market for a new laptop notebook. I presently have an IBM 390X and it's served me well during the past five years.
Time for a 15.4 or 17 inch wide screen, but I want a laptop that has great sound. Most of them don't put in the right speakers, and the volume is never loud and clear enough.

Err... I don't think any notebook has great sound... Some have "subwoofers" but those who have them claim that they suck and don't really add much.

Well, I FUBAR'ed my 3200. I decided to switch it to English myself. XP installed no problem, but most of the drivers from Acer's site didn't work. The LAN, BT and WLAN don't work. PowerNow doesn't work as well and the video driver seems non-existent. I could just pop in my Chinese CD's and restore, but I don't want to open them since I will exchange them for an English version. Oh well, looks like I'll just have a good EMU machine until I swap the disks.

I changed the disks today in "Gwong Hua", near the big computer street. It's XP Home. It took less than a minute to swap the disks. Tonight after I restore I'll post an update. Five more hours of work now.

is acer showing any signs of releasing another laptop in the ferrari line? just wondering because if they are and the chassis is basically the same as the 3200, would it be theoretically possible to swap the graphics cards from one machine to the other, assuming that the next one would have a better gfx card than the 3200 (i.e. m18, m24 (i think this is the codename for the mr-x600), m28, etc.)?
