Ordering
I had earneda a 4.0 the last term and so my dad said that I earned an AW laptop and he would pay for $2,000 of it. one day I am out working for him and I walk in and he says "Ready to order?" I said "Yeah!" and he whipped out his card and we ordered it without a hitch.

The Phases
Oh the phases probably one of the worst times of my life 2nd to waiting for fedex to deliver it. It went quite smoothly too. I was going through phases 1-4 the first couple days and then one day it jumped to phase 9 and I was just saying wow!

Waiting to be delivered.
While waiting to be delivered I checked the FedEx website probably 4-7 times a day. ( just a habit ) During the shipment I had a huge scare somebody had said that the Area-51m has an un-upgradeable GPU. I got mad I wrote them a big fat Email that was kind of mean in parts. I then called Tech support who immediately laid this issue to rest and again restored my faith in AW.

The Arrival
When I recieved the machine all my coworkers were in awe and about 3-4 of them said "If I earn the money Im gettin one!" I then brought it and showed it to my dad and everyone at my work stared as I walked past holding my pride and beauty. ( I also had the impulse to just hug the fedex man )

The Packaging
I recieved the package and it was a Cardboard box that was really small and it was really light and I was thinkin a mix up happened and then the FedEx guy walked back in with my real package *few* the small box was just the backpack and it said Saucer Silver on it and I was thinkin "WHAT I ORDERED GREEN!" I openeed it up and I was extremely relieved to find my green sexy laying their! It was tucked in so tight that I had a little bit of trouble getting it out! not much though.

Starting it up
I started it up and holy cow it was just so easy launched windows XP and I got it all set up for me I noticed that Alienware had snuck their logo all over the place and I was amazed at the quality of the display. ( have the 15.4" ) I had never seen a screen so crisp and clean. I had absolutely no Ghosting! I then started typing on the keyboard ( which I am doing right at this moment ) and the keyboard feels so solid and It just fits right under my hands and feels so good!

Benchmark
I then installed a few things and ran 3DMark03 on my computer and I got a score of 1768 and I was wondering what the heck was going on then I remembered that I had set the thing to run at max resolution and max settings and then I did it with default and got a 3303!!

UT2K4
I then launched UT2K4 ( I installed earlier ) I went into the settings and put them at max went into instant action it was so sweet! ran great no ghosting jumps or anything I was so totally amazed at this and I almost fell in love with the thing until I realized that I was getting shot at I then played for about an hour before I decided I better get to work!

DVD+/-RW
Dont have any - RW's so I will edit this in when I can run down and get some.

LOL! You wanted to hug your FedEx guy. I wanted to kick mine because he rang the doorbell and I said hold on “let’s just say I was indisposed at the time” he put on the delivery notice sticker on the door thin left. I had to pick mine up at the FedEx depot at 6:30 pm that night.

GET BROADBAND , it makes a huge difference, and it will complete your otherwise perfect gaming laptop. But what's gaming without broadband?
