Our admins take the best and most objective laptop reviews and index them here to create a distinct selection of quality reviews with averaged overall ratings. Many of these reviews have benchmarks attached to them which allows for users to compare their laptop's performance with others, and ultimately enables us to provide a sortable list which at a glance show the fastest laptops amongst a variety of applications (gaming, video editing, web browsing, etc...). Hey all-
I am in Prescott AZ, about 90 minuts north o' phoenix. Performance Computing is my biz name, I am in the book. My sales are pretty much local only though, building my business up on a radius of service, so to speak, I dont do Gilbert. But hit me up if you like. As per benchies, its pretty much the same hw as the m6n. Same chipset/vid card. I am not sure any new benches past whats been posted on the m6n would really do, since they would (should) be the dead on same. Eric |

great comparison - i think the -1 usb ports doesn't hurt the w1n, if you have more than 3 usb inputs, you'll probably have more than 4, and need a usb hub anyway.
The sleek look of the w1n alone is a selling point, with the only real downside being the video card - and the 9600 64mb isn't a bad card at all, if you've tried it. It plays most of the latest games at a good framerate. For those who immediately dismiss it because it's "only" a 64mb card, try using it before you smack it - some of us use our laptops for more than just gaming.

IMHO...
If youre into gaming, buy a desktop. At half the price you can build a screamer, really. But I played unreal 2k4 and farcry on my m6n, both ran well enough to be very playable. Some other games maxed out the frame rate, sure, but the vid card is the same in both. A 128 meg vid card only is able to load more textures guys, and doesnt have a faster clock speed. And I agree with coffeeshark, no way I am going to sit down at home and plug 4 things in. Not when a hub costs what, 15 bucks? I also dig the w1 having one of those ports on the other side, making the mouse plugin way more convenient. The best laptop has a mix of the features of the two, for sure. But, you gotta prioritize what you like and want. Eric |

I completely agree, i just got my m6bne, which is an extremely nice laptop, perfectly mobile, long battery life, and it can play a few games if i'm bored somewhere. On the other hand, even the heaviest laptops today have yet to match the performance of the best computer from a year ago. YOu can upgrade your desktop much more easily and you can overclock it to hell if need be. If nothign else, throw together a 600 dollars small form factor, even that will outperform any laptop.

well, check the pics!
but they are quite sharp looking. asus puts alot fo thought into the "sexiness" as some members put it. For insance, when my w1 is in sleep mode, instead of the industry standard flashing power led, thiers does a very slow fade in and out. Say it with me kids- "ooooh" hehe. The recessed screen and aluminum case on the w1 is really sharp, as is the non boxy form of the m6. Both very cool. Eric |

To those who already own a W1N:
Is it true that the W1N has no built-in MIC? On the Asus-homepage they say it has, but some people have said other things. As it is an important fact for me, I'd be very thankful for information. greets FF |
