Got it back, and it works now, but they broke two keys on my keyboard.

I have to wait until Moday to contact them, because they are closed on the weekend.

They obviously used a blue ball-point pen to pop open the keyboard and were very rough about it. They also left out a screw.

There was also a lot of dust and what looked like white cat hairs on the screen, which I had thoroughly cleaned before I sent it in.

These guys are total hacks.

Well, they will not send a replacement keyboard, they want me to send the whole computer back in yet again. Bull. Looks like I'll be paying for a new keyboard out of my own pocket, they can burn in hell... there's no way I'm sending this machine back to them yet again... they already had it for a month.

Hacks, useless pieces of dung.

Anyone out there considering a Philips extended warrantee on their Sager, you might want to reconsider.

What should you get then? Warrantech? Don't they use micromedics as well?

Beats me. I think next time I'll just skip the extended warrantee and take the risk. Sure as hell not giving any more money to Philips.

Here's a close-up shot of some of MicroMedics quality work.

I guess a ball-point pen is their idea of a precision tool.

Oh, here's the other tab. Yes, the F2 key was floating loose. Look at the tab, too... looks like a tiny dog chewed on it.

might want to contact Watch dog at maximum pc and other establishments to have micromedic checked into. sounds like it might be a guy who does it in his basement full of cats using a crowbar and a pen.

Thanks, I just sent in the info to them.

Here's a pic of part of my screen. Note the cat hair. The entire screen looked like this. Does this look like it was worked on in a clean computer environment?

Now your getting me really worried. I bought the 3 year warranty with them. But I think warrantech uses micromedics as well.

Oh, I told Philips exactly what happened. They just said, "sorry." But that's it.

Micromedics won't send a new keyboard unless I send them the entire computer back.

Anyone want to guess as to whether I'll allow MicroMedics to touch my machine again?

I am also getting a new power supply under the warantee (the fan never turns off), so I'm happy to report I have cost them more than the $200 I paid for the warantee.

And you can damn well bet that I will do anything I can to incur more costs to them if I have the slightest problem in the future.

Sager will send me a new keyboard for $55, so I'll probably just foot the bill for that myself, and work on screwing Philips out of at least $55 some other way.

Hmm.. Maybe we are better off building our own laptops. This is really a serious dillema in my book. I'm going to buy the 3790 and now I am wondering if I should get the warranty. I mean if the motherboad dies I wonder how much that will cost me. You say the powersupply died too ? Did you get a pic of the powersupply ? Man maybe I am better off getting a laptop in Thailand.. At least whatever needs to be done on it will cost me next to nothing.

My HP Laptop has given me many problems. The first time, my laptop stopped charging, i called circuit city, they sent me a box, and within 2 weeks I had my computer back in perfet working order. This repair was handled by a company out of Texas. Now I had the screen die on me, then shortly thereafter, it stopped charging again altogether. again I called Circuit city, and they got a box to me in a few days. This time the box said Micro Medics on the side, which made me a little skeptical of a new company. for my own peace of mind, I did a little googling and low and behold, I found over a dozen complaints of poor service, incompetent techs, and outright fraud.

After reading this thread and seeing the damage, and reading other reports, I decided to take no chances. I took my camcorder and filmed every inch of my laptop (front, back top, bottom, sides, different angles...) with the paperwork from micromedics in plain view to dispell any claims that the footage is old. I even filmed myself packaging the laptop into the box properly, and including all necessary components. I can only pray that they have the audacity to mess with me. If my laptop comes back with so much as a scratch that it didnt have when I sent it, Im gonna shove the proverbial foot up their ass until I get restitution. If they refuse, I will take legal recourse. I am tired of companies screwing consumers, and this one has particularly gotten to me.

I will keep everyone updated on the status of my claim. Remember, dont take shit from anyone.
